
“A new Sophia Loren,” was how Pat McGrath described Dolce & Gabbana’s makeup look. “I didn’t want the look to be too perfect,” noted McGrath, the global cosmetics design director for P&G beauty. “There’s an individuality paired with a well-groomed elegance,” hairstylist Eugene Souleiman said of the loosely pinned chignons. He allowed the models’ hair to fall into natural partings, for example. “It’s a natural look, yet very manipulated,” Souleiman said of the deceptively nonchalant styles. “You actually have to be well-practiced to create the look.”
Get the Look
First skin was prepped for glamor. For dramatic red lips, highly pigmented and moisturizing Dolce & Gabbana lipsticks in Dahlia, Ultra and Devil was used. Pat McGrath blotted them twice” to leave a slightly smudged, yet sensual lip. Dolce & Gabbana Eyeliner in Black was used to form winged flourishes that were gently blurred. Pinky beige hues of Dolce & Gabbana Blush were added to cheeks.
