NYFW S/S '10: Shisedo @ Jen Kao

Shisedo @ Jen Kao
Jen Kao's designs are a clear reflection of her Japanese roots, affinity for detail, and formal education in studio arts. All of these components come together and breathe life into a collection that is fluid and visually refreshing. Llyod SImmonds, the lead makeup artist for MAC, was inspired by Kao's direction - for models to look like they were on vacation, just stepped out of the water, and changed to hit the town.

Shiseido hair maestro Tadashi Harada followed suit with a style he described as "simple, cool, and wet." Harada used products from Shiseido's Japanese line including a mixture of two gel sprays to smooth strands backward and a control spray.

GET THE LOOK:
Skin is coated in Face and Body Foundation and a touch of Select Cover-Up applied. Cheek bones are contoured with Powder Blush in Sweet as Cocoa. Cream Blush in Pearl or Shell are swept over the eyelids, tops of cheek bones, bridge of nose, and cupid's bow. The top and bottom lashes are coated in Pro Lash in Black, while the groomed brows are lightly defined with powder. Lipstick in Myth keeps lips nude. Combine Shiseido Professional Design Tex Gel Sprays #31 and #33 for sleekness. Tame any flyaways with Shiseido Professional Renascent Design Control Spray, while pulling it all together with a Mason Pearson hair brush.
