MFW S/S '10: Chanel @ FENDI

Chanel @ Fendi
The Spring 2010 shows continued over the weekend in Milan as Karl Lagerfeld presented pieces for Fendi. There were plenty of nudes and pastel shades in this collection as Fendi got distinctly feminine. They were shaped in to soft pleats and drapes in luxurious fabrics like silk and tulle.

Hairstylist Sam McKnight was inspired by Dutch actress Sylvia Kristel’s postcoital tresses as the sultry heroine Emmanuelle, in the 1974 erotic classic of the same name. It marks yet another showing of the messy updo for Spring.

Peter Phillips, as a makeup artist for Chanel used a sculpted, softly buffed face and lightly smokey eyes to go on with the look.

Phillips fashioned a mauve smoky eye using two Chanel eye shadows in Silage and Trace for a shimmering halo effect on models’ lids. Then he Chanel’s Frisque, a peach blush, on their cheekbones for a warm, morning-after glow. Multiple coats of black mascara on the top -the darkest black of mascaras, noir obscures- and bottom lashes provided that extra boost of sexy definition. Super glossy lips created by Glossimers.
