T3 & Revlon @ Oscar de La Renta
It was high glamour backstage at Oscar de la Renta Wednesday, where makeup artist Gucci Westman and hairstylist Orlando Pita teamed up to create the beauty look. “It’s like an Eighties cosmetics ad — a really done woman,” Westman, who is global artistic director for Revlon, said of the look she created. “But it’s today because the skin is luminous rather than matte — the way it was in the Eighties.” When it came to the hair, “There’s lots of volume and wave,” Pita quickly remarked “It’s a Seventies, [uptown] socialite.”
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP
Westman created a strong eye that included a dark, glimmering shade on the inside corner, which was blended with a lighter brown hue carried out past the brow. The eye color combination comprised Revlon’s Luxurious Color Perle Eye Shadow in Black Galaxy and ColorStay 24Hour Eye Shadow Quad in Coffee Bean. The eyes were lined with ColorStay Liquid Eyeliner in Blackest Black and finished with 3D Extreme Mascara, also in Blackest Black.
Light shades of ColorStay Pressed Powder were used to even out the skin, which was highlighted with Age Defying Spa Face Illuminator in Pink Light. On the lip went Super Lustrous Lipstick in Chocolicious, followed by Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Shine City.
GET THE LOOK - HAIR
To create the look, Pita first took sections of hair and brushed them straight. He sprayed the sections with a product called Orlando Pita T3 360, blew the sections dry, then rolled them up with a curling iron, pinning them into big curls all over the head.
The hair was allowed to set until it cooled, then it was let down and sprayed again as it was brushed out into big, voluminous, feathery dos. There was some back-brushing to further fluff out the look, which was finished with a healthy dose of the Orlando Pita T3 360 spray.
