Cle de Peau & Bumble and Bumble @ Vera Wang
Film noir mixed with a bit of French screen goddesses Catherine Deneuve and Brigitte Bardot provided the beauty inspirations at Vera Wang's show. Eyes stole the show with Catherine Deneuve-like smoked out creases, while lips stayed kissably nude with a hydrated finish. Hair heralded Brigitte Bardot with lots of volume at the crown and a casually tousled, unfinished look.
GET THE LOOK - MAKEUP
Makeup artist Lucia Pieroni, working with Cle de Peau, swept shimmery white and gray eye shadows (part of a quad named 205 that will bring to market in September) across the lids, , then applied black pencil eyeliner and smudged it slightly to create a lived-in cat eye. Lipst stayed lusciously nude with a yet-to-be-named nude lipstick that for now is referred to as T-5. Pieroni followed up with bronze-pink blush on the cheeks (Blush # 5).
GET THE LOOK - HAIR
Jimmy Paul, working with Bumble and Bumble, created a half-up, half-down French twist with an edge. He first applied Bumble and Bumble's Thickening Spray and Surf Spray, then backcombed hair at the roots to create volume. "It's meant to look like the girls slept in it, and teasing the hair gives it that effect right away," said Paul. After pulling hair back, he then twisted and pinned the top section of the hair, allowing the remainder of the hair to stay loose. Paul finished with Bumble and Bumble's Does It All hairspray.
