Origins Takes, We All Receive
According to the EPA, packaging accounts for approximately one third of all landfill waste. To help counteract the epidemic, Origins is launching the “Return to Origins” Recycling Program, which facilitates a nationwide recycling effort of cosmetics packaging. Beginning March 29, you can bring your bottles, tubes, caps, jars, and compacts—regardless of brand—to the over 450 Origins retail stores and department store counters nationwide, where dedicated recycling receptacles will be set up for drop off. There’s also an official kick-off party planned for April 2 at the General Motors plaza in New York, where free hand and arm massages will abound and the first 250 participants to make contributions will receive a free deluxe-sized A Perfect World Intensely Hydrating Body Cream with White Tea.

Bond No. 9’s Bottleneck Effect
This April, Bond No. 9, the niche New York-based perfume house, wants to remind everyone that it has taken on recycling duties for the fragrance industry and is accepting flacons at all of their boutiques and Saks Fifth Avenue counters, no matter what brand. And by way of an eco-friendly thank-you, you’ll receive a refillable pocket spray for your empties.

Aveda Walks For Water
For its annual Earth Month initiative, Aveda has taken up the safe and clean drinking-water cause by holding 6K walks, which are meant to be symbolic of the average distance women in developing countries walk on a daily basis to get water for their families. The company’s goal is to raise $3 million in 30 days. Click here for more information on how you can get involved. Related events will take place at all Aveda salons, institutes, and stores, where sales from its stress-relieving lavender and sage Light the Way Earth Month Candle will go to Global Green Grants.
