ck Free from Calvin Klein

Calvin Klein will launch a new men's perfume in September 2009 called CK Free. The scent is meant to rally a lot of people looking for the same thing, or rather escaping from the same reality...by wearing the same cologne. "CK Free has been created to offer men an everyday escape away from the daily grind regardless of their age, ethnicity or social status. It's very democratic."...

Free is described as a woody aromatic designed by Givaudan. It offers the impression of having a few innovative nuances to the composition going by mainstream criteria unless it all manages to blend into one of those by now familiar-smelling fruity men's scents that are becoming the new standard. The cologne opens on "top notes of Thailand star anise, jackfruit, absinthe and juniper berry; a heart of suede, tobacco leaves, coffee absolute and South African buchu, and a drydown of patchouli absolute, oakwood, Texan cedarwood and Costa Rican ironwood."

The ad is fronted by Jamie Dornan. The collection: 1 oz. for $32, 1.7 oz. for $47 and 3.4 oz. for $62 -- as well as a 5-oz. aftershave balm, at $42, and a 2.5 oz. deodorant stick for $16.
