NYFW Fall 09: Cynthia Rowley

With its large, old-timey wooden fireplace and winding stairs, the room where the show was held did not disappoint—nor did Westman’s handiwork, which centered around an appropriately romantic eye. “Rather than just do a greasy black or brown eye, I wanted to use some color,” Westman said, referring to Revlon’s matte Tempting Teal eye shadow, which she layered with a standard black for a “floaty and soft” finish. To complete the look, she finger-dabbed Revlon’s Vava Violet, a new shade due out next month, onto lips—sans liner—so it appeared more like a stain than a precise lipstick. “It’s slightly imperfect this way,” she explained, “which makes it nicer''.
