Daphne from Daphne Guiness X Commes des Garçons

As with some celebrity perfumes such as L'Air de Rien by Miller Harris or Halle by Halle Berry, Daphne by Daphne Guinness attempts this semi-literary exercise, the autobiographical olfactory quote inserted in a perfume composition.

"Guinness chose ingredients with personal meaning. Woody notes, for instance, recall floors and furniture from the house where she grew up, while oud was included since her mother often brought the ingredient back from trips to the Middle East."Perfumer Antoine Lie of Givaudan put all this into perfume form explaining, "She always picked the most prestigious and expensive ingredients" .

The perfume has top notes of bitter orange, incense and saffron. In the heart there are rose centifolia, Tunisian jasmine, tuberose and iris notes. In the base we find patchouli, oud, amber and vanilla notes.

A 50 ml bottle of Eau de Parfum is priced at $140. Only 5000 copies of the perfume will be initially released.
